    Good

Worst staff unhelpful people i have ever met.

  • 6.2
    Good

The family room was spacious and had a good view.

They could not find my booking and then when they finally did I was sent to a room which was occupied! Then I was charged $16 for mini bar food and drink which I didn't take. Poor customer service and a disappointing stay.

The Mantra Hotel itself was a fine Hotel. Very close to everything.Modern Comfortable Room & Beds.

The Service was the worst that I have ever had in my life.

Requested quiet room, was placed in a room right next to the lift.

We had a problem in that my husband cannot step over a bath for a shower and we were upgraded to a room that has a shower recess, no problems and so we had a really lovely holiday, staff were more than helpful if I asked questions about the area and any means of transport. When ringing initially for a booking there were no problems and things were handled quickly and efficiently, not like another hotel that I had tried twice to book into before this one and had too many problems with them so tried the Mantra. The lifts were very good and came quickly when you pressed for them. Enjoyed the swimming pool and spa every day, very clean and well tendered.

I thought the continental breakfast and full breakfast a little expensive, although I always take my breakfast with me when travelling.

    Great location for us

Dirty towel left in bathroom when we checked in. Rubbish left in cupboard. Restaurant not told we had paid for breakfast twice. Got a phone call saying they were going to charge us for another night because there were people in our room. We had checked out at 10am & were back in Brisbane.

    Good

The closness to the city walking distance to everything

The hotel wasn't as nice as we expected, for the money we paid we thought it was abit to much, the hotel appartment look nothing like the photo's as we where there for or first anniveriery and were not impressed. and would not recommend.

It's very central to Darwin CBD. Room service meals were excellent. The rooms overlooking the Esplanade have great views. It's quiet and comfortable.

I was surprised to find a cracked loo seat in the bathroom.

    Very good

Good and bad here together I was very happy with all aspects of the Mantra on the Esplanadeand wrote so in the room info sheet and handed it to the 2 people on check out the morning I left especially the staff. Wing to something at checkout it is highly unlikely I will stay again. As I checked out and took my key the young lad behind the counter asked me to pay my bill. I replied I did at the time of booking. He quite rudely said that I hadn't and that I had booked with Booked.net and they only took the booking and they would be sending me a bill. I tried to explain I had paid but he was a young upstart who was sure he was right. My bus to go and catch the Ghan was due but I said I had torn up my booking slip and left it in the bin in my room. I got my key back ran up to get the booking (in pieces) too it back to him and told him to stick it together to see and left furious. Not only did I tell him in my explanation that the man at desk on arrival confirmed I had paid but so did the person at desk the night before when I went to ask what I owed which was 2 phone calls I paid then. I will report this to the Mantra Manager when I get a chance because that persons attitude was enough to put me off returning. I am a woman in my 60s who tried to explain initially but he wouldn't listen. I also asked him for an apology email when he read my booking form and confirmed I had paid but I havent received one. I couldn't wait around as my bus had come to pick me up.

I felt the Mantra on the Esplanade was old fashioned but the spaces were good. I felt if it was a 4 star it was only just

    Fabulous

Very comfortable room and the service was excellent - very obliging and friendly

I couldnt make or receive calls to Sydney (something wrong with the phone) The sound proofing could be improved - you could hear people walking around, using the bathroom etc and even speaking loudly.

The location was excellent. It was particularly handy with the transit center being located behind the hotel. The pool was also very much enjoyed, especially the shade sail as we do not like to sit out in the sun.

Would like to order drinks and/or snacks at the pool side but was unable to.

    Fabulous

The view from our room was fantastic. The proximity to the restaurent strip and shopping was great. The rooms were very sound proof so you didnt hear other guests coming and going.

The TV system was not operating properly so we were limited in our viewing. No stubby holders.
